Case Study: AZLOGICA achieves rapid ROI, reduced theft and boosted shrimp production with Ubuntu Core (Ubuntu)

A Ubuntu Case Study

AZLOGICA utilise Ubuntu Core for customised IoT agricultural solutions

AZLOGICA, a Latin American IoT integrator working with clients such as Toyota, Coca‑Cola and Movistar, builds customised telematic solutions to help organisations manage assets across industries. When Colombian shrimp producer Oceanos needed to protect perishable stock and maximise yield, AZLOGICA had to monitor many environmental variables (pH, temperature, salinity, humidity, wind, precipitation) and secure remote sites against theft while handling large volumes of sensor data.

AZLOGICA deployed Dell Edge Gateways running Ubuntu Core and snaps (including Mosquitto) to securely aggregate and forward sensor data to the cloud, speeding development and easing integration with their existing Ubuntu stack. The solution delivered a fast time to market and strong economics — a promised 10x ROI with payback within six months — and measurable operational gains: theft reduced to under 1% of prior levels, a planned 36% cut in derived losses and up to a 28% increase in shrimp production; the same platform is now being extended to other verticals.
