Zayo, a communications infrastructure provider with a 122,000-mile fiber network across North America and Europe, needed a better way to give operations, engineering, sales, and support teams fast access to detailed network information. To meet this challenge, Zayo looked for an intuitive, mobile-friendly inventory map that could show assets, configurations, customers, services, and capacity while integrating with GIS, Salesforce.com, Google Maps, and other business systems. Ubisense’s myWorld enterprise geomobility platform was chosen to help deliver this capability.

Ubisense implemented myWorld through a rapid proof of concept and agile production rollout using Zayo data and use cases, with Zayo stakeholders deeply involved in integration and configuration. The PoC was completed in under two months and delivered positive user feedback plus measurable improvements in response times, and the full system went into production in around five weeks. The result was a simple, Google-like inventory map that required minimal training and gave users 24x7 access to critical network and customer information, with plans to extend it later to Zayo customers via the Tranzact platform.
