UniFi Provides Wi-Fi to Outdoor Music Festival

JMF Solutions, a WISP and wireless solutions provider, was tasked with delivering reliable, high-speed Wi‑Fi for staff, vendors, and VIPs across the sprawling Hangout Music Festival, serving over 2,000 devices across 70 groups in a high-RF-noise environment. To meet tight timelines and rapid onsite turnups, JMF turned to Ubiquiti, deploying UniFi access points and airFiber backhaul along with airView spectrum analysis tools to optimize channels and power.

Ubiquiti’s solution—20 UniFi AP‑PROs, 20 UniFi AP Outdoor units, 10 airRouters, 2 airFiber links and the UniFi Controller—was installed by JMF in two days, with airFiber providing a 20‑minute backhaul hookup to fiber. The network delivered consistent performance (8–10 Mbps synchronous per group, 2–3 Mbps per user), supported ~200 5 GHz scanners and hundreds of thousands of access transactions daily, and provided reliable VoIP, payment, and mapping services across the festival.
