Secure Wireless Internet Service for 24/7 Live Monitoring and Remote Access

Aegis Energy Services, a Holyoke, Massachusetts–based manufacturer and installer of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, needed reliable, cost‑effective wired and wireless networking to support 24/7 live monitoring and secure remote access for technicians—often working in basements with poor cellular reception. They partnered with Ubiquiti and selected EdgeRouter X routers and UniFi AC Lite access points, along with a UniFi Cloud Key and cloud‑hosted UniFi Controller, to meet these needs.

Ubiquiti implemented a solution of 55+ ER‑X routers, 60+ UAP‑AC‑LITE APs and a UC‑CK Cloud Key managed via UniFi Controller and UNMS, delivering PoE‑powered gigabit routing and reliable 802.11ac Wi‑Fi. The deployment enabled continuous remote monitoring, secure remote access and centralized device management, reduced technicians’ cellular data usage in basements, and simplified installation, firmware updates and configuration backups across sites in NYC, New England and Washington, DC.
