How Kibbutz Divat built a Community-Run ISP with UniFi

Kibbutz Divat, a long-standing community co-op, was struggling with outdated telecommunications equipment that couldn’t support VLAN isolation or strong security, leaving residents able to see each other’s devices and causing slow speeds and dropped Zoom calls. To solve this, the kibbutz looked for a simpler, more integrated networking option and chose Ubiquiti’s UniFi platform.

Ubiquiti implemented UniFi to manage fiber uplinks, VLANs, and Wi‑Fi from a single console that non-technical volunteers could operate. The network was rolled out gradually node by node, and by completion Kibbutz Divat had symmetrical gigabit speeds and much more stable service, eliminating the everyday connectivity issues residents had faced.
