Case Study: Radynet delivers GPON fiber to 135 residences with Ubiquiti UFiber GPON

Delivering GPON Fiber Internet Service to Residential Neighborhoods

Radynet, a Czech WISP founded in 2004 that already used airMAX and UniFi equipment, faced the capacity limits of wireless when expanding service to the Nezvěstice residential area. Taking advantage of a municipal trenching project, Radynet chose Ubiquiti’s UFiber GPON solution (UF-OLT and UF-Nano) to deliver fiber Internet to homes and apartments.

Ubiquiti supplied UFiber GPON hardware and UNMS management software—one UF-OLT and 60 UF-Nano ONUs were deployed—and Radynet connected 71 single-family houses and 64 flats (135 premises) between November 2016 and August 2017. The network proved reliable (only one outage caused by a broken fiber during six months under full load), simplified centralized management via UNMS, and positioned Radynet to expand further using Ubiquiti UFiber GPON.
