Shell Turns Online Interactions into Offline Sales With Standout Listings

Shell, one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies with 44,000+ locations and roughly 30 million customers served daily, was losing potential visits because online listings were inaccurate or incomplete. To ensure customers searching for specific services (for example, “Shell with car wash near me”) could find the nearest station, Shell engaged Navads, an Uberall company, to take ownership of site data beyond the corporate station locator and improve presence on platforms like Google and HERE.

Uberall (via Navads) ran a 1,000-location pilot in the UK, uncovering that 15% of profiles were missing on Google My Business and 27% on HERE, and registering 125,000+ clicks to Google driving directions from those channels; the solution was then rolled out globally. Uberall now helps Shell keep 44,000+ sites in 70+ markets up to date and optimized to show amenities and services, improving discoverability, driving offline visits, and supporting Shell’s goal to reach 40M+ customers per day and expand to 55,000+ sites.
