Telemedicine A remote physical examination using a novel device is as safe and effective as a conventional examination

Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, through its Schneider Children’s Hospital emergency department, needed a safe and effective way to perform remote physical exams for children as part of telemedicine visits. The team evaluated TytoCare, using the Tyto device to remotely examine the ears, throat, heart, and lungs and transmit findings for clinician review.

TytoCare implemented a prospective study in which children aged 2–18 were first examined with the Tyto device and then with conventional tools, allowing direct comparison of both approaches. Results showed strong agreement across organs examined, including perfect agreement for heart and left lung findings, high agreement for right lung and throat, and no adverse events; physicians also rated the data quality and user experience positively, demonstrating that TytoCare’s solution was as safe and effective as a conventional examination.
