Employees engaged, Utilization increased, Costs controlled, A Case for Employer Adoption of the Tyto CareTM Device

Best Buy, the largest consumer electronics retailer in the U.S., needed a way to control rising healthcare costs within its self-funded health plan while improving employee access to care. To address this challenge, it partnered with TytoCare and tested the TytoHome device, a telehealth solution designed for on-demand medical exams.

TytoCare rolled out a 90-day pilot with 200 employees and their families, giving participants 24/7 access to acute care telehealth visits through Sanford Health physicians. The program produced strong results: 686 registered patients, a 38.6% utilization rate, high employee satisfaction, and an average savings of $201 per episode by reducing avoidable ER, urgent care, and doctor’s office visits. Following the successful pilot, Best Buy expanded the program and also began selling TytoHome in its stores and online.
