German Youth Hostel Association - Customer Case Study

The German Youth Hostel Association (DJH), Germany’s largest provider of youth accommodation, needed a relaunch of its website to better serve its 2.4 million members and unify a complex structure of headquarters, regional associations, and hostels. The project, involving TYPO3, also had to enable online booking for the full product portfolio, support multilingual and responsive use, and integrate tracking tools for performance analysis.

TYPO3, together with team neusta, rebuilt the site on a new dynamic TYPO3-based platform with editorial flexibility, REST API integrations to the DJH’s .NET systems, and expanded online booking capabilities. The new website launched in 2018 after a beta release in 2017, and the result was a scalable system that allows the complete product range to be booked online while continuing to be optimized through ongoing support and development.
