Aral, one of Germany’s best-known and most valuable brands, needed a better way to help customers in gas stations find the right lubricants, lamps, windshield wipers, and care products for their vehicles. Using TYPO3, Marketing Factory Consulting GmbH built a CMS-based point-of-sale terminal to improve service competence despite limited qualified staff at the stations.

TYPO3 enabled a centralized system where product data could be imported from Excel, assigned to vehicle types, and regularly updated across terminals. Marketing Factory Consulting GmbH also developed a caching strategy and export/update process so changes could be tested on one terminal and then distributed to all Aral gas station terminals via UMTS, delivering fast response times and easier self-service for customers.
