How Trello used a Typeform quiz to bring staff together

Trello, led on people operations by VP Liz Hall, faced a common scaling challenge: how to maintain company culture and team bonding as the company grew (from 22 to 93 employees) and 63% of staff worked remotely. To make their Trello Together retreat inclusive and fun, Trello turned to Typeform to build an interactive employee quiz that would engage dispersed team members and decide who’d win a special oceanfront villa prize.

Using Typeform, Trello launched a multimedia quiz about the company and employees, added a custom Thank You screen, and used Typeform’s admin timestamps as a measurable tiebreaker (completion time) to pick the villa winner. The Typeform solution created a fair, low-effort selection process, boosted participation and connection among remote employees, and reinforced Trello’s inclusive culture while providing clear, objective data to resolve ties.
