How a personality quiz is growing a beard brand

Beardbrand, founded by Eric Bandholz, set out to better engage beardsmen, help customers find the right grooming products, grow its email list, and gather audience insights to improve products. To achieve this, the Austin-based company created an interactive personality/product quiz using Typeform to offer a fun, on-brand way for visitors to discover recommended products while signing up for Beardbrand’s newsletter.

Using Typeform’s features (Calculator, Logic Jumps, Hidden Fields, embedding and redirects), Beardbrand built a 10-question, six-result quiz embedded on its homepage and integrated into email flows and paid campaigns. The Typeform quiz has generated over 150k leads, become their second-most successful email list, earned backlinks and social shares, and produced actionable insights (e.g., moving to travel-friendly product sizes), clearly demonstrating measurable growth and improved customer targeting.
