The Federation Press, an independent Australian academic publisher, faced an inefficient manual typesetting process in Microsoft Word that was time-consuming, prone to errors, and limited their production flexibility. To overcome these challenges, they partnered with Typefi and implemented the Typefi Workgroup on-premises server solution.

Typefi automated the composition process by using Adobe InDesign templates, which allowed The Federation Press to rapidly generate print-ready PDFs from Microsoft Word files. This solution doubled their production capacity, significantly reduced typesetting costs, and improved the aesthetic consistency of their books. Typefi enabled substantial savings, such as reducing a major textbook's page count by 48 pages with a simple template change, a task that took hours instead of days.
