A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Laramie County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming serves about 92,000 residents across 2,688 square miles, including an Air Force base and major interstate corridors that bring complex public safety challenges. Their legacy AS-400 CAD had limited mapping and cumbersome workflows that produced widespread duplicate incident “jackets,” forced dispatchers to stop relying on the system, and slowed officers with manual UCR coding—prompting a need for a modern, integrated solution with powerful mapping, mobile and field-reporting capabilities.
In 2015 the county upgraded to Tyler Technologies’ New World Enterprise CAD, gaining geo-verified addresses, GIS routing and geofencing, mobile CAD and AVL for fire/EMS, and CrewForce patient data in the field. The upgrade cut duplicate jackets from 57% and 32% at partner agencies to under 1%, eliminated most time spent searching records, improved routing and unit recommendations, and delivered faster, more accurate responses and better information-sharing across agencies.
