A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Richland County School District One (Columbia, SC) is a large public district serving more than 23,000 students and employing about 4,000 staff. During a district-wide cost review, leaders sought to identify savings, replace an inefficient paper-based five-part purchase order process with greener technology, overcome staff hesitancy about new systems, and maintain high levels of customer service.
The District implemented TylerForms, working closely with Tyler implementation staff and its IT analyst to test the solution on a test database, document step-by-step procedures, and train procurement staff. The switch eliminated bulky PO printing, reduced paper, postage and labor, and sped vendor transactions—producing an estimated $10,000 in first-year savings while increasing procurement efficiency and supporting the District’s environmental goals.
