The City of Pleasanton, California—a municipal organization of 500+ employees serving about 80,000 residents—needed a modern HR and payroll system that would integrate with its legacy financial software. After evaluating options, the city selected Tyler Technologies’ Munis ERP to replace an unsupported payroll system, rework its general ledger, decentralize processes, and train staff across departments—a rapid “ripping off the Band‑Aid” implementation that carried significant change management challenges.
Pleasanton implemented Munis Human Resources and Payroll, an Employee Self Service portal for electronic time entry, and additional financial modules, supported by intensive training including a go‑live computer lab. The result was streamlined, consistent workflows and real‑time operational insight that empowered employees at all levels, simplified reporting, improved accountability and financial transparency, and shifted ongoing training and support to supervisors and Tyler’s resources.
