A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Mission Consolidated Independent School District in Mission, Texas (15,000+ students) faced a critical communication breakdown after a rapid shift to remote instruction during the pandemic. Traditional outreach—email, mail, phone and text—failed to reach all families, leaving the district unable to quickly share and collect feedback on operational plans such as which schools would reopen, schedules, and which students would attend in person.
The district implemented Tyler SIS eForms and Tyler SIS Surveys to create a web-based, bidirectional communication channel. Within days eForms let staff solicit parent preferences on instructional delivery, return-to-school dates, internet and device access, and other feedback, while Surveys added flagged questions routed to administrator dashboards for fast follow-up. The tools reduced manual review, supported athletic planning, and allowed parent input to directly inform district decisions during a crucial period.
