A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Prince William County, Virginia—a jurisdiction of more than 430,000 residents—was operating on a 15‑year‑old permitting system that required tedious manual research and relied on parcel numbers and addresses. That process led to missed fees, no reliable tracking of non‑monetary conditions, and inefficient workflows across development services.
The county implemented Tyler Technologies’ Enterprise Permitting & Licensing Impact Management module, which uses spatially linked cases to automatically trigger and associate monetary fees and non‑monetary conditions at the right points in the process. Since deployment, Prince William County has increased fee collection across permit types, eliminated much of the manual research, sped resolution of impact conditions, and improved staff efficiency and public responsiveness.
