A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Putnam Public Schools in Putnam, Connecticut, faced an aging, manual student information system that made critical tasks—especially producing and preserving 50-year student transcripts—inefficient and inconsistent. The district needed a modern SIS that would automate reporting, ensure data accuracy for state requirements, and seamlessly integrate student, staff, financial, and transportation records.
The district selected Tyler SIS to work alongside its existing Tyler solutions (Infinite Visions and Versatrans), completing a planned, collaborative implementation and data validation. The integrated system delivered real-time data sharing, reduced manual entry and errors, streamlined transcript management and state reporting, improved parent and teacher communication via the portal, and saved staff time while enabling earlier identification of student issues.
