A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The Town of Davie, Florida (population ~105,000; 737 employees) had used Tyler’s New World ERP since 2009 but had not adopted its full functionality, leaving procurement and accounts payable with labor‑intensive, manual processes. Contract expirations were missed, check requests required cumbersome routing, payments were delayed, encumbrances and records were inconsistently tracked, and duplicate invoices and lost documents undermined accountability.
Working with Tyler and the town IT team, Davie built a customized, decentralized contracts and accounts‑payable module that stores contracts, sends milestone expiration alerts, links contracts to requisitions and POs, and retains documents for compliance. One‑on‑one training led to full adoption across all 17 departments by September 2020; the result was faster approvals, real‑time visibility, near elimination of duplicate payments, improved staff coverage during COVID, and a strong return on investment that better safeguards the town’s financial resources.
