Montgomery County in Ohio faced a state-mandated six-year property reappraisal in a difficult financial climate following the Great Recession. The county auditor's office needed a cost-effective solution to complete the reappraisal that would also increase accuracy and public confidence, all while operating under a tightened budget and with reduced staff resources. They partnered with Tyler Technologies to implement a technology-driven approach.

The solution utilized Tyler's CLT Appraisal Services for digital image collection and the Tyler Verify desktop review software. This eliminated door-to-door canvassing, reduced paper usage, and allowed for efficient verification of property records against both street-level and aerial imagery. As a result, Tyler helped Montgomery County save at least $400,000 compared to the previous reappraisal, significantly increased property owner and auditor confidence through accurate digital records, and completed the project with higher accuracy.
