Merced Superior Court in Merced County, California, was operating on an antiquated case management system and had limited local IT resources to complete a modern replacement. The court contracted with Tyler Technologies through the state Master Services Agreement to implement a locally hosted, comprehensive case management solution for all case types and improve automation, efficiency and public access.

Tyler delivered the Odyssey suite (Case Manager, Financial Manager, File & Serve, Judge Edition, Portal and Brazos eCitation), providing on-site staff, training and mock-court sessions to complete the rollout in 15 months. The implementation halved civil processing time, eliminated paper backlogs and storage needs, automated 2,400 monthly traffic citations via eCitation, enabled 24/7 public access and created an electronic courtroom—transforming Merced into a paper-on-demand court and freeing staff resources for other priorities.
