A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Maui County’s Real Property Assessment Division (RPAD) in Kahului, Hawaii, faced growing challenges from outdated appraisal software and manual processes that made meeting IAAO property-inspection standards difficult. Staff were forced to copy sales and property details from the MLS and other sources by hand, a time-consuming, error-prone workflow that limited efficiency and accuracy.
RPAD upgraded to Tyler’s iasWorld and integrated third-party data—GIS, Pictometry, property photos, NCOA, state death records, MLS listings and county permitting data (with EnerGov)—so all information appears in a single CAMA view. The result: automated loading of 2,000+ permits yearly, 2,500 MLS sales merged into CAMA, streamlined sales validation and permit processing, improved data quality, more time for field inspections, and measurable progress toward IAAO standards and better service for Maui taxpayers.
