Lehigh County, PA - Customer Case Study

Lehigh County Communication Center, which serves a population of about 369,000 and supports 17 police agencies, 50 fire departments and eight EMS agencies, faced an urgent technology challenge: their unsupported, outdated computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system needed replacement, and Pennsylvania’s push for regionalized systems added pressure to adopt a solution compatible with neighboring counties.

The center implemented Tyler Technologies’ New World Enterprise CAD (with New World Mobile and CrewForce), aligning with regional partners and modernizing operations. The new system enabled instant data sharing, improved workflows with customizable dispatcher interfaces, and handled double the normal call volume during Hurricane Isaias; a custom COVID-19 questionnaire also helped protect first responders by relaying tailored health information in real time.
