A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Clark County, Nevada District Court—serving nearly 2 million residents including Las Vegas—faced rapid growth, budget pressures and an overwhelming paper burden that tied up staff, storage and courtroom space. Manual, eight-step filing processes caused long delays in docket updates, high scanning workloads and crowded public counters and parking.
The court implemented Tyler Technologies’ Odyssey File & Serve e‑filing (starting with a pilot and then mandating civil and family e‑filing), which automated filing and financial reconciliation and provided near‑real‑time access to documents. Within 90 days the court processed about 143,000 accepted submissions (≈3,000/day), cut roughly 858,000 pages of paper, reduced filing staff from 20 to 3, shrank customer windows from 13 to 3, and converted 20,000 sq ft of storage into eight new courtrooms—delivering faster dockets, lower costs and improved public service.
