A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Tyler Technologies worked with the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, which serves about 92,000 residents across 2,688 square miles in Wyoming, to address widespread inefficiencies in ticketing. Officers were spending excessive time on the roadside filling out multiple carbon-copy tickets and handwriting separate tickets for each violation to meet state rules, then sending them to records for manual data entry — creating legibility issues, data errors, and delays. The department wanted a solution to reduce roadside time, improve accuracy, and integrate directly with its records management system.
In 2015 Laramie County implemented Tyler’s Brazos eCitation solution, which auto-populates fields, scans VINs and license numbers, and can print multiple tickets for multiple violations at once. The result: faster citation processing and more time on patrol, fewer legibility and data-entry errors, pre-fill and validation that cut rejected or dismissed citations, compliance with state submission requirements, and seamless integration with the county’s New World records system for streamlined court and records workflows.
