A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The City of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a local government serving more than 50,000 residents, faced inefficient, paper‑based code enforcement processes: hand‑filled triplicate forms, inconsistent tracking methods, and missing documentation. These issues made case tracking and prosecutions difficult, limited management reporting, and left the city opening only 50 cases (under $10,000 revenue) in FY2006/07.
By customizing Tyler’s Eden Permits & Inspections (Eden Citizen Services), the city implemented standardized workflows, automated routing and inspection scheduling, and built user‑specified reports. The centralized system gave officers full control of case data, reduced hearing preparation from days to about 20 minutes, and helped the city open 920 cases and generate over $204,000 in FY2008/09—while avoiding purchase of separate code‑enforcement software.
