A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Tulsa Public Schools, a 39,000-student district in Oklahoma, used Tyler’s Versatrans Triptracker to record transportation usage but lacked an integrated billing and accounts receivable system for external customers. The transportation department was handling fragmented, manual billing for thousands of trips—about 3,500 requests and 1,500 external invoices in one year—creating inefficient processes, weak visibility into receivables, and the risk of lost revenue.
In July 2011 TPS implemented Tyler Munis financials fully integrated with Versatrans Triptracker, automating invoice generation, centralizing billing and collections in the Treasurer’s office, and adding trip identifiers to invoices for easier customer reconciliation. The integration improved monitoring of usage, costs and aging accounts, streamlined collections and internal controls, enhanced customer communication, and increased revenue capture and efficiency.
