A Tyler Technologies Case Study
St. Lucie County, Florida, is focused on helping constituents and local businesses succeed while preserving the community’s character. The county faced the challenge of balancing development standards with economic growth, supporting a strong agricultural sector, and making its online services accessible and ADA-compliant to ensure transparency and inclusion for all residents.
To address this, St. Lucie created a business navigator and an economic development manager, partnered with the Economic Development Council, and launched the Treasure Coast Research Park and the Sunshine Kitchen incubator to grow farm-to-table businesses. The county also works with software vendors to improve digital accessibility. The combined efforts have smoothed the entitlement process, created pathways for food entrepreneurs and sustainable agricultural markets, strengthened trust with the community, and advanced the goal of generating better, higher-paying jobs.
