A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Logan County, Colorado — a rural jurisdiction of about 21,000 people with 22,000 parcels — faced an aging Cobol-based property system that couldn’t integrate assessor and treasurer data, link to GIS, or support modern valuation tools. With no county IT staff, the offices were wasting hours on duplicate data entry and manual processes that impeded timely tax billing and increased the risk of errors.
The county implemented Tyler’s iasWorld Online SaaS to unify appraisal and tax administration, host and maintain the system offsite, and enable GIS integration, document scanning and public web access. The result was automated workflows, faster and more accurate tax calculations and billing, reduced foot traffic and phone inquiries, fewer staff hours (staffing declined as workload fell), and elimination of local IT maintenance burdens.
