Contra Costa County Office of Education (Pleasant Hill, CA) oversees services for 18 school districts and hosts Munis for 16 of them, serving more than 100,000 students and 9,000 employees. CCCOE faced a challenge with COBRA insurance billing: each district used different third-party software, which caused duplicate data entry, inconsistent processes and reporting, and inefficiencies across the county.
CCCOE eliminated third-party solutions by processing COBRA billing inside Munis using the General Billing and Accounts Receivable modules, piloting one district, then rolling out phased deployments with documentation and hands-on labs. The change centralized employee data, improved reporting, removed duplicate entry and third-party costs, and produced measurable time and cost savings for CCCOE and the 16 districts.
