Cobb County School District implements a state-of-the-art ERP solution

Cobb County School District (Georgia), a large district serving about 113,740 students and 17,675 employees, had implemented Tyler’s Munis for HR/payroll in 2014 but kept a legacy accounting system due to budget limits. That created a patchwork of third‑party applications, hundreds of custom reports and spreadsheet-based reporting, a 24-hour transaction delay, and significant strain on IT resources—hindering visibility into the district’s financial picture.

After a thorough review, CCSD fully implemented Tyler’s Munis ERP with a cross-departmental project team and CFO sponsorship, delivering 1,200+ implementation sessions (22,500 person-hours) over 21 months and deploying modules such as general ledger, AP, AR, budget, cash management, capital assets, purchasing and project accounting. The result: streamlined, integrated financial reporting, improved departmental cohesiveness, retirement of three third‑party and nine internal applications plus all custom reports, and a technology team freed to focus on other district priorities.
