Case Study: City of Redmond achieves protected drinking water and streamlined permitting with Tyler Technologies' EnerGov

A Tyler Technologies Case Study

Preview of the City of Redmond Case Study

City of Redmond - Customer Case Study

The City of Redmond, Washington (pop. ~55,000), faced an outdated permitting and land-management system that hampered planning, inspections and zoning enforcement—while also risking contamination of a shallow aquifer in its Wellhead Protection Zone. The city needed a modern technology platform to improve permitting efficiency, protect water resources, maintain zoning and establish reliable, centralized address and land-use data for future services.

Redmond implemented Tyler’s EnerGov (Planning, Permitting and Licensing) integrated with Esri ArcGIS and the GeoRules Agent, added mobile workflows for 25 inspectors, built a Master Address Repository, and integrated Microsoft Dynamics AX for finance. The result: protected drinking-water sources through geofenced permit reviews, faster and more accurate permitting and zoning decisions, streamlined field inspections (130–150 daily requests), a single commercial/residential address database, improved fee tracking and reporting, and a scalable platform for future applications.
