A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The City of Port St. Lucie, Florida (1,100 employees), a Munis client for more than 20 years, faced siloed systems, limited staff training and time‑consuming manual processes that undermined efficiency and accuracy. Innovation Officer Charlie Proulx set out to demonstrate that Tyler’s ERP could run the city’s operations end to end, but routine tasks—such as manually entering up to 10,000 utility transactions a week—generated errors and high labor costs.
By joining Tyler’s PACE program the city launched intensive Munis training, created a cross‑departmental “Munis core team,” and implemented AP imports to automate billing workflows. The changes cut the FPL billing job from 40 hours a week to under 10 minutes with zero errors, saved the city more than $250,000 annually, boosted staff engagement, and led to adoption of additional Munis modules—all without purchasing new software.
