Tyler Technologies partnered with the City of Pittsburgh to modernize how the city shares and analyzes its finances. Pittsburgh had abundant but siloed financial data—binders, spreadsheets and desktop files—and needed a user‑friendly way to provide context and transparency for residents, media and policymakers without overburdening staff.

Using Tyler’s Data & Insights platform, Pittsburgh launched Fiscal Focus in 2019, a suite of three apps—Budget Explorer, Checkbook PGH and Payroll Explorer—that deliver interactive, frequently updated views of budgets, purchases and payroll. The solution improved public engagement and internal analysis, saved staff time, enabled clearer storytelling of fiscal trends, and helped community groups and city leaders make better data‑driven decisions.
