A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The City of Miami Beach, a municipality of about 92,000 residents and 2,000+ employees, faced slow, paper‑heavy and siloed permitting and planning processes that hindered timely reviews, fee collection, transparency and customer service — producing thousands of documents and over 2,000 boxes of stored records. City leadership sought a way to modernize workflows, improve interdepartmental communication, and give residents better online access to permits and case information.
Miami Beach implemented Tyler Technologies’ Enterprise Permitting & Licensing together with Cashiering and Enterprise ERP to integrate and automate workflows. The eReviews and online submissions eliminated paper routing (now 100% online), enabled concurrent reviews, sped revision turnaround from days to minutes, improved fee tracking and staffing projections, and digitized archived files — freeing storage space, supporting green goals, and delivering faster, more transparent service to citizens and staff.
