A Tyler Technologies Case Study
Tyler Technologies’ public safety division helps 9-1-1 centers and first responders manage emergencies using its New World Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software. The case study describes real incidents where callers or officers were injured or uncommunicative—an El Cajon officer dazed after a crash, a silent Greene County deputy, and stranded canoeists—creating urgent location challenges that traditional grid searches would have struggled to resolve quickly.
Using CAD features such as Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), GPS and cell‑phone coordinates, plus Pictometry aerial imagery, dispatchers were able to pinpoint vehicles and people within minutes. The result: rapid, targeted responses that located and saved the injured officer, found the deputy after a crash, rescued the canoeists, and demonstrated faster, more effective emergency operations.
