A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The City of Deer Park, Texas, a fast-growing suburb of Houston and a 16‑year Tyler Technologies client, needed a more comprehensive permitting, licensing, and maintenance solution. Facing long lines, largely in-person permit and inspection workflows, field inefficiencies, and a requirement to integrate GIS services, city leaders sought software that would enable online services and improve responsiveness for residents and contractors.
Deer Park implemented Tyler’s EnerGov suite—including the Citizen Access Portal, permitting and land management, licensing and regulatory, public maintenance management, and the iG Inspect mobile app—plus GIS integration. The result: 24/7 online access for permit applications, payments, and inspections; faster, paperless fieldwork with real‑time updates and routed inspections; streamlined interdepartmental collaboration; and improved reporting and budgeting to better serve its ~32,000 residents.
