A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The Town of Ballston, New York — a growing municipal organization serving about 11,500 residents with a 30-person staff — faced an increasingly onerous accounts payable process: monthly, paper-driven approvals and the manual printing and signing of roughly 150 checks created a full day of work and limited visibility into payments. With a desire to modernize financial operations as the town grows, Ballston looked to Tyler Technologies for a more connected, scalable solution.
Ballston implemented ERP Pro in 2019 and subsequently added Utilities Pro, Time & Attendance, and AP Automation. Within six months of AP Automation, the town moved to digital storage and workflows that let staff drill into payments, pull check images, and quickly share documentation—eliminating much of the manual work, improving vendor transparency and accountability, and delivering what the bookkeeper called a “night and day” relief in access to information.
