A Tyler Technologies Case Study
The Allentown School District, a large urban district in Pennsylvania, faced significant transportation inefficiencies and a stagnant state subsidy due to outdated routing practices and a reliance on an external contractor. To gain control and increase funding, the district partnered with Tyler Technologies and implemented its Student Transportation software to bring routing operations in-house.
Using Tyler Technologies' software, particularly its Fleet Schedule feature, the district optimized its bus routes into efficient tiers, dramatically increasing ridership and mileage efficiency. This resulted in a projected $2 million increase in state subsidy for the year, part of a 170% four-year funding increase. The district also piloted Tyler's My Ride K-12 app to improve parent communication, leading to more reliable service and higher attendance rates.
