Case Study: ROUVY scales API requests from 1M to 21M with Tyk

A Tyk Case Study

Preview of the Rouvy Case Study

Enabling global cyclists to explore every route imaginable

ROUVY, the indoor cycling app, needed a lightweight API gateway for client authorization, blocking problematic requests, and better observability after its Google Cloud Platform gateway became hard to maintain, costly, and no longer fit its needs. The company also needed support for Firebase authentication at a reasonable price, while keeping up with its growing traffic and expanding API usage.

ROUVY chose Tyk Gateway, which was configured and deployed in eight days, including Kubernetes integration and OpenTelemetry observability setup. With Tyk, ROUVY scaled from 1 million to 21 million monthly API requests, lowered traffic costs, improved the developer experience, and kept adding new endpoints and services as it grew.
