Theragen, a medtech company, partnered with vendor TXI to enhance the overall patient adherence of its ActaStim-S wearable device for spinal surgery recovery. The challenge was to shift to a user-centered product company by improving the companion app's usability to encourage patient movement, enable better data collection, and achieve FDA and HIPAA-compliance.

TXI designed and delivered a data-driven companion mobile app that focused on patient needs and user experience. The solution resulted in a mobile application that helped patients recover more quickly; a study backed by the FDA found that patients using the ActaStim-S therapy were more than twice as likely to achieve overall success one year after surgery versus a placebo control.
