AFGE Automates MFA Challenges With Help From Twosense

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), a large federal employee union, faced significant productivity and user experience challenges due to its strict multi-factor authentication (MFA) policies. As an early adopter of MFA, the organization found the frequent prompts for its 400+ employees to be a major disruption, causing workflow interruptions and lost time. AFGE engaged the vendor Twosense to find a smarter way to implement identity security without sacrificing their strong security posture.

Twosense implemented its continuous authentication solution, which uses passive biometrics and machine learning to silently verify a user's identity based on their behavior. This software integrated seamlessly with AFGE's existing Okta infrastructure via a simple browser extension. The results were immediate and impactful: Twosense automated 78% of all MFA challenges, saving over 2,685 minutes each month and significantly reducing interruptions. This led to improved productivity and allowed the IT department to focus on other critical projects.
