Yelp, the local business review and discovery platform, needed a better way to help restaurants manage reservations and keep diners informed in real time. Using Twilio-powered two-way SMS, Yelp enabled customers to text restaurants to make, modify, or cancel reservations and to stay updated on wait times and availability.
Twilio helped Yelp expand mobile engagement and simplify restaurant communication through SMS and desktop replies. The results included more than 102 million Yelp reviews, 2X customer engagement with mobile users, and a 12-month period in which Yelp doubled its weekly average inbound SMS traffic, showing strong measurable growth in customer interaction.
