Xtramile Solutions is an Australian digital health provider that enables clinical data sharing among clinics, laboratories, healthcare professionals, and patients. When the pandemic drove demand for patient-facing services, Xtramile rapidly expanded its platform to include patient registrations, referrals and notifications—sending as many as 700,000 Twilio-powered SMS messages in a month—to address staff shortages, remote consults and backlogs.

Using Twilio Programmable Messaging and Programmable Voice, Xtramile automated registrations, referrals and consult calls (with masked clinician numbers), boosting lab capacity from ~8,000 to 30–40,000 patients per day and cutting result turnaround from 5–7 days to 12–36 hours. The solution increased clinician productivity, improved patient experience, earned strong feedback, and is being extended into AI-driven digital consultations to further reduce workloads and curb infectious disease spread.
