TwiliQ Backs Up Your SMS

Twiliq, created by CTO Chris Johnson, is a lightweight backup queue that protects businesses using Twilio from losing SMS when their Twilio endpoint is down. The challenge was that existing ideas lived as abandoned hobby projects, leaving teams without a reliable, production-ready way to capture and replay messages during outages.

Twiliq captures incoming Twilio requests, stores them, and automatically replays them until the customer’s app returns a 200 response, removing the risk of lost messages. Built with Node and deployed on Google Cloud Platform (Pub/Sub + App Engine) for instant autoscaling, it provides a practical, production-ready layer of resilience that reduces operational worry and enables teams to build more confidently on Twilio.
