TeleClinic is a German healthtech startup that launched to make qualified medical advice accessible anytime, anywhere. Facing a market where telemedicine was only recently legalized and digital healthcare adoption lagged, TeleClinic needed a flexible, privacy-first communications stack to scale virtual consultations for patients, doctors, pharmacies and insurers — especially as COVID-19 drove sudden, large demand.
TeleClinic chose Twilio’s programmable video and communications APIs (plus messaging, TaskRouter and webhooks) so it could control user experience, integrate services and use WebRTC end-to-end encryption for privacy. The result: a scalable on-demand platform that delivers same-day video consultations (typically 30–120 minutes from request), issues digital prescriptions and sick notes, and has rapidly grown to lead Germany’s virtual care market.
