Talkus, founded by Vianney Lecroart, set out to simplify customer support by eliminating the constant context-switching between SMS, email, live chat and phone systems. The challenge was to consolidate all customer interactions into a single, easy-to-use interface so reps could see name, location, history and messages without leaving Slack.
They solved this by integrating Twilio SMS with their 100% JavaScript stack (Node.js and Meteor) using a few webhooks and API calls, turning incoming texts into Slack conversations. The feature was prototyped in hours and launched in days, allowing small teams to add SMS support quickly; customers like restaurants and Cleanio now handle mobile-first inquiries and driver coordination directly in Slack, speeding response and simplifying workflows.
