Case Study: SpareFoot boosts bookings and move-in rates with Twilio

A Twilio Case Study

Preview of the SpareFoot Case Study

Sparefoot Uses Twilio to Make It Easier to Find Self-storage Facilities Anywhere in the Us

SpareFoot is the world’s largest online marketplace for self-storage, listing more than 6,500 facilities and helping customers find and contact local operators. The company faced an industry-wide challenge: self-storage owners relied on offline advertising and struggled to compete as customers moved online, leaving a gap in timely, trackable communications between renters and facilities.

SpareFoot integrated Twilio’s Voice, SMS, TwiML and local-number APIs to add SMS directions, provision local tracking numbers (LILY) and build TenantConnect, an automated follow-up system that calls facilities, navigates phone trees, routes staff and uses text-to-speech to summarize reservations. The solution boosted inbound phone traffic, on-page conversions and move-in rates, increased total bookings, and was deployed rapidly (TenantConnect launched to beta in six weeks), while eliminating heavy telecom engineering overhead.
